The District of Saanich is hiring Leaf Truck Operators for three temporary positions to aid in the annual leaf collection program, operating trucks and interacting with the community.

There are three full time, temporary positions available for individuals who have a robust customer service background and experience operating commercial vehicles. You will oversee a field crew, ensuring protected, efficient operations while collecting leaves from various neighborhoods in Saanich. This role requires excellent communication skills and an ability to maintain equipment and vehicles effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
• Drive and maintain leaf collection trucks safely and efficiently
• Supervise daily activities and team members in the field
• Gather leaves from streets and transport them to designated areas




• Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
• Provide residents with information and support on leaf collection

Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent training
• At least one year of previous commercial driving experience
• Valid Class 3 B.C. Driver's Licence with required endorsements
• Experience with leaf collection equipment is preferred
• Must be physically fit for demanding outdoor work
