The City of Abbotsford is seeking a dedicated Guard/Instructor in the Parks, Recreation & Culture department. This CUPE auxiliary position focuses on providing a secure leisure experience while performing lifeguarding duties and delivering aquatic program instruction. Your expertise and attention to detail will be vital in emergency response, equipment inspection, and maintaining pool chemistry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure patron safety in all aquatic activities
• Provide effective instruction in swimming and aquatic programs
• Perform regular inspections of rescue equipment
• Monitor and maintain pool chemistry as required
• Conduct janitorial and maintenance tasks in the facility
Requirements:
• Current Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor certification
• National Lifeguard certification (Pool Option)
• CPR Level C with AED certification
• Robust communication and relationship-building skills
