Job percentage: 100% (35 hours) Immediate supervisor : Director of financial services Nature of Work The position of finance officer encompasses, in particular, participation in the carrying out of the financial activities of the school board, providing assistance to the management staff of the various administrative units and, in the area of financial management, supervising and coordinating the duties of a team. Characteristic functions The finance officer develops, analyzes, evaluates and applies the techniques applicable to accounting, financial and statistical operations. Analyze the revenue and expenditure items and reports thereon; Develop and apply standards and procedures specific to the sector, make the necessary projections to establish operating costs, exercise control over accounting operations, carry out and report on financial follow-up; Provide advice and support to school and services administration on financial and internal audit; Prepare and supervise accounting entries, verify compliance of accounting transactions; ensure verification of invoices payable and accounts receivable and take action, if necessary; Collaborate with the finance management coordinator; Conduct internal audits and propose innovative ways to improve processes; Collaborate in the preparation and analysis of monthly and annual financial statements. Work in collaboration with the external audit firm; Participate in the design of work,
planning or internal control tools for the staff concerned; Collaborate in the development and monitoring of links between the financial system (Dofin) and other CSS systems (TFP, Payroll, Procure, etc.); Prepare and lead training sessions and information workshops; Participate as required in the development and updating of specific financial software programs; Carry out any related projects assigned by the immediate superior.
General Skills
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of specialization, particularly in accounting or business administration with a concentration in accounting; Member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (CPA) or in the process of becoming one (an asset); Minimum of five years' relevant experience; Very positive knowledge of spoken and written French and English. Excellent knowledge of accounting software, particularly GRICS applications; Intermediate level spreadsheet skills (Excel); Excellent computer skills; Teamwork and interpersonal skills; Excellent customer service skills; Good adaptability; Initiative and autonomy.
