Position Description & Scope Reporting to the CFO with a dotted-line relationship to the CEO, the Credit & Trade Manager is responsible for leading the Company’s global credit, accounts receivable and trade finance function, while serving as a strategic commercial partner to Sales. This role protects the Company’s cash and working capital while enabling profitable growth by developing innovative payment structures for customers around the world.

This role will lead a customer-focused Accounts Receivable team, provide executive guidance on global credit risk and trade finance, and work closely with Sales, Operations, banking partners and Export Development Canada (EDC) to remove commercial barriers.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the global credit and Accounts Receivable function, Credit Risk Management, invoice & billing, payment collection & cash application,



dispute Resolution, reconciliation, and effective management reporting

Develop credit policies, approval authorities and governance while approving credit facilities within delegated authority

Monitor receivables, bad debt exposure and customer, country, sovereign and political risk across the global portfolio

Review aged receivables, recommend bad debt provisions and approve write-offs within delegated authority

Provide subject matter expertise in international trade finance, including Bank Guarantees, Performance Bonds, Bid Bonds and Advance Payment Guarantees

Partner with Sales and Operations to identify payment or credit issues early and support quotations, shipments and customer relationships

Develop commercially viable payment structures and alternative solutions that balance customer needs with Company risk

Advise on complex international transactions, including letters of credit, documentary collections, bank guarantees, bonds, credit insurance, export documentation and trade finance solutions

Support negotiations with customers, agents, banks, insurers and other commercial partners

Maintain strategic relationships with TD, Commerzbank and other financial institutions regarding trade finance and credit solutions

Manage the executive relationship with EDC, including policy renewals, governance and expanded use of export credit solutions

Develop, coach and mentor the Accounts Receivable team while fostering a commercially minded, customer-focused and accountable culture





Drive continuous improvement and automation within SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline

10+ years of progressive experience in international credit, trade finance, export finance or commercial banking

Demonstrated experience with global manufacturing and international customers

Expert knowledge of Letters of Credit and international payment mechanisms

Foster effective relationships with external customers’ payment functions

Provide appropriate support from banking and credit insurance partners

Collaborate & build close partnerships with key internal partners – Sales, Order Management, Logistics

Possess strong, proactive communication strategies

Promote standardized, streamlined processes & possess strategic, analytical thinking mindset

Excellent Time Management skills for credit approvals and minimizing shipment delays caused by payment or documentation issues

Experience leading Accounts Receivable teams

Experience with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud (preferred)

CPA, CFA, CTP or similar designation is an asset
