Department: Norwest Early Learning and Child Care Centre

Location: 105 Lucas Ave

Position: Childcare Assistant -INCLUSION SUPPORT (Indefinite Term)

Hours: 7am to 9am and 3:30pm-5:00pm, full day shift on in-services and Holiday Breaks

Shift: available between 7:00am-5:00pm

Salary: As per CUPE contract

Qualifications
Classification as Child Care Assistant
Robust interpersonal, team building, and communication skills
Current first-aid and CPR certification (Level C)
Positive understanding of Manitoba Child Care Program’s Regulations
Must be energetic, friendly and enthusiastic
Must be willing to take initiative
Experience working with inclusion supports an asset
Subject to successful criminal record with vulnerable sector search & child abuse registry check.




Must complete mandatory 40-hour course approved by Manitoba Early Learning and Child Care (within first 6 months of employment)
Must complete Commit to Kids online training immediately upon hire

Responsibilities
To ensure the physical care and safety of the children.
To provide emotional support and nurturing care to children
To provide children with the prospect for growth and development
To follow Centre’s behaviour management policy
To maintain confidentiality; follow licensing regulations, to know and follow Centre policies and procedures.
To work with a team of professionals to meet the individual needs of children who require additional supports.
Communicate regularly with families
To work directly with children and families who require additional supports
Other duties as assigned
