Support child development as an Early Childhood Educator Assistant at Summit Community Services Society. This full time position at Second Steps Daycare focuses on planning engaging activities for children, ensuring a nurturing environment throughout the day.
As an ECEA, you will work a 40-hour week covering maternity leave, with potential to extend. You will use IHA’s child care licensing regulations, alongside ECE ethics and the BC Early Learning Framework, to guide your activities. Plan, lead, and evaluate experiences designed for children aged 3 to school age, fostering their growth and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and evaluate age-appropriate activities for diverse age groups
• Collaborate efficiently with co-educators and families
• Maintain effective communication with parents and team members
• Uphold licensing regulations and ensure confidentiality
• Keep the daycare organized and hygienic
Requirements:
• Valid ECEA Certification
• First Aid and Food Protected Certificates
• Successful Criminal Record Check
• Robust organization and partnership skills
• Positive attitude and strong leadership capabilities
