Sphere Liberty expertise to lead enterprise application architecture, modernization, and migration initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Open Liberty, Web

Sphere Application Server, Java, Spring Boot, Jakarta EE, microservices, cloud platforms, and Dev

Ops .

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across application modernization programs, define scalable architecture and integration patterns, and ensure enterprise solutions meet security, performance, availability, and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities Design and architect enterprise applications using Open Liberty / Web

Sphere Liberty .

Lead application modernization and migration initiatives from traditional Web

Sphere Application Server (WAS) to Open Liberty .

Define target-state architecture, modernization strategies, migration roadmaps, and technical standards.

Design and develop cloud-native, scalable, and resilient application architectures using Java, Spring Boot, Jakarta EE, and Open Liberty.

Define application deployment strategies, integration patterns, API strategies, and technology standards.

Design solutions for high availability, scalability, security, performance, and resiliency .

Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines and Dev

Ops best practices .





Support application deployment and modernization across cloud and enterprise infrastructure environments.

Collaborate with business, application development, infrastructure, cloud, security, and Dev

Ops teams to ensure successful solution delivery.

Conduct architecture reviews, technical assessments, and design governance activities.

Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to development teams.

Identify and troubleshoot application and infrastructure performance bottlenecks and recommend optimization strategies.

Establish architecture governance frameworks, technical standards, design principles, and reusable patterns.

Create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical specifications, solution design documents, standards, and governance documentation .

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions aligned with enterprise architecture strategy.

Required Skills & Qualifications Solid experience as an Enterprise Architect / Solution Architect in enterprise application environments.

Extensive hands-on expertise with Open Liberty / Web

Sphere Liberty .

Proven experience migrating applications from Web

Sphere Application Server (WAS) to Open Liberty .





Strong Java enterprise application development and architecture experience.

Experience with: Java Spring Boot Jakarta EE Microservices Open Liberty Web

Sphere Application Server Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture and distributed systems .

Experience defining application deployment architectures and integration patterns .

Strong knowledge of CI/CD, Dev

Ops, automation, and modern software delivery practices .

Experience designing secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient enterprise solutions .

Strong understanding of application performance optimization and troubleshooting.

Excellent architecture documentation, communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP .

Experience with containers and Kubernetes/Open

Shift .

Knowledge of API management, event-driven architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.

Experience leading large-scale application modernization and transformation programs .

Experience establishing enterprise architecture governance, standards, and reference architectures.
