Summary of Duties: The Education Assistant will follow the daily schedule of the class they are assisting. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to morning, recess, lunch supervision; math and reading programs; and other classroom duties.

Key Deliverables and Expectations:

To provide student assistance in and out of class under the direction of the Elementary Vice Principal.

Working with other specialists.

Ensuring a reporting format is established and maintained.

Keep a daily journal.

Ability to follow instruction as outlined in student improvement plan.

Perform other related duties as requested.

Experience and Attributes:





Must have Grade 12, ECE or other related certificates, diploma an asset.

2+ years of experience working with kids.

Experience working with special needs children/youth an asset.

Some knowledge of child development.

Some understanding of behaviour problems would be an asset.

B.C. Standard First Aid Certificate for working with young children (recommended but not mandatory).

Able to foster skilled relationships between teacher and parents to support students' best interest and to work.

Knowledge of Lil'wat culture an asset.

Must be able to provide a transparent criminal record check, including the vulnerable sector.
