Ongoing – start anytime. One afternoon a week, Thursday from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Program Details
Make a difference after school – become a Running & Reading Club Mentor. The program promotes literacy, healthy active living, and play for children aged 6–13 (Grades 1–6).
Responsibilities
Participate in fitness activities.
Read one‑on‑one with children.
Help serve healthy snacks.
Lead or support engaging literacy games and activities.
Volunteer Requirements
Willing to undergo a background or police records check.
Understand volunteer code of conduct.
Minimum 16 years old.
Comfortable commuting to the chance location.
Skills & Experience
Special needs teaching/assisting, teacher assistant, tutoring, coaching, sports coaching, mentoring, education & schooling, community development & outreach, English as a secondary language (ESL), teaching, volunteer management, capacity planning, group facilitation, administrative support, sports & physical activities, advocacy.
