About the Role
We are currently hiring a Data Entry Clerk on behalf of a reputable public-sector client in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The successful candidate will provide data entry and administrative support during the implementation of a new online database system (AMS). As part of the migration from the client's legacy system, some client records were not transferred to AMS and need to be entered into the new system.
The role will also support a large-scale certification update project involving the reissuance of approximately 12,000 Certificates of Qualification and ID cards following the removal of the expiry-date requirement for certifications in compulsory trades.

Key Responsibilities
- Enter client information accurately into the AMS online database.
- Review records from the legacy system and input missing information into AMS.
- Verify data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Update and maintain client records in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist with the reissuance of Certificates of Qualification and ID cards.
- Process a high volume of records while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Remove or update certification expiry-date information as required.
- Handle confidential client information in a professional and secure manner.
- Maintain organized records and documentation.
- Perform other related administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Grade XI education plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Previous experience in data entry, administration, records management, or a related role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working with computer systems and databases.
- Ability to perform repetitive data-entry tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to manage a high volume of information while meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
