The Pas, MB Closing Deadline : June 5, 2026 (11:59PM EDT) What You Will Do As a member of the Manitoba Habitat Asset Management Team (HAM),
you will be responsible for delivering operation and management of water control structures on various DUC projects in the Saskatchewan River Delta. You will be working with Indigenous communities, provincial representatives, watershed districts, public stakeholders, and external partners. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Build and maintain positive relationships with local governments, indigenous communities, landowners, industry, agricultural producers and Federal Fisheries and Oceans Canada Maintain, troubleshoot, and operate small engines and field equipment Handle and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs Operate and service water control structures ensuring functionality and safety Conduct remote wetland inspections and collect environmental and ecological data Prepare clear and concise technical documentation, including protocols, data summaries, maps, and progress reports. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, policies, and permits in all field activities. Requirements An environmental or biological science diploma is preferred but other diplomas in related disciplines will be considered. A minimum three years’ experience, related knowledge and academic achievements make you the ideal candidate for this very diverse, challenging, and exciting opportunity.
Strong planning, reporting, and project management skills. Knowledge of sustainable and integrated resource management including local agricultural, industry and conservation practices. Experience with Microsoft programs. Awareness of MB Occupational Health and Safety practices. Ability to work long/flexible schedule outdoors, with possible travel. Excellent organization, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written. A valid class 5 driver’s license. Proficient in navigation and use of a GPS Comfortability driving, maneuvering, and backing up vehicles and vessels. Pleasure Craft Operators Card, ATV, Chainsaw, Valid First Aid, MED A3, and SDV-BS experience certificates would be assets. Assets Practical experience working around moving water. Operating and maintaining small engines. Strong technical skills, including preparing reports, attention to detail, and documentation. Managing wetland and upland conservation projects.
