As a Quantitative Investments Intern, you will join a dynamic team focused on developing and managing data-driven investment strategies. This role offers hands-on experience in quantitative research, portfolio analytics, and infrastructure development. You’ll collaborate with portfolio managers and senior researchers to support investment processes and contribute to the evolution of our research platform. Key Responsibilities
Assist in constructing and testing new investment signals using diverse data sources. Conduct literature reviews and synthesize insights from academic papers, industry research, and internal discussions. Present findings and recommendations to the team through written reports and presentations. Support data integrity checks and periodic updates. Help maintain and improve internal tools,
including Python-based dashboards and websites. Contribute to automation efforts for portfolio monitoring and reporting. Generate performance attribution reports and assist in analyzing portfolio risk and return drivers. Collaborate with team members to identify trends and anomalies in investment performance. Respond to ad-hoc data requests and reporting needs. Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Python, SQL, and R. Familiarity with equity markets and investment concepts. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Experience with machine learning techniques is an asset. Why BMO?

Salary: $45,500.00 - $84,500.00 Pay Type: Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position. BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance‑based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
