ISCP(Inclusive Services Career Pathways) Program
supports unemployed andunderemployed adults who have experience working with or supporting vulnerablepopulations and who are seeking to re‑enter or stabilize their employment inOntario’s community and social services sector. Participants may beinternationally trained newcomers or Canadian residents who have relevantexperience but face barriers accessing stable, Ontario‑based employment. ISCPequips them with Ontario‑specific knowledge in areas such as settlement,housing, addictions, mental health, and financial supports, helping themtransition into frontline and administrative roles. By providing sector‑specifictraining and direct candidate-employer connections, ISCP strengthens culturallycompetent service delivery and builds sustainable, community‑rooted talentpipelines across the province. Position Summary
The
AdmissionOfficer
serves as the welcoming first point of contact for participantsapplying to MNLC’s ISCP Program. This role plays a critical function inensuring individuals are appropriately assessed, guided, and connected to thesupport that best meets their needs. Working closely with internal teams and externalpartners, the
Admission Officer
will respond to inquiries, assesscandidate eligibility, manage interview appointments,maintain accurate records, and supportapplicants navigate across MNLC’s service offerings. The position requiresstrong interpersonal skills, attention to detail administrative precision, andthe ability to collaborate across multiple programs and stakeholder groups. Key Responsibilities
Client Intake & Assessment
Act as the first point of contact for ISCPprogram inquiries : Respond to general inquiries and informationrequests from prospective applicants, current participants, and projectpartners, providing accurate and timely information about ISCP and MNLCprograms and services and related resources (e.g. language assessment processand organizations). Review and screen program applications :Assess ISCP program applications to determine eligibility and identify clientneeds. Follow up on incomplete submissions by requesting missing documentationand refer applicants to appropriate services that support their applicationprocess. Schedule assessments :Coordinate interview bookings for eligible ISCP applicants. Communicate application results :Inform applicants of their assessment outcomes, including pass/fail status,
andguide successful candidates through the next steps in the admissions andonboarding process. Facilitate service referrals and provideculturally responsive, trauma-informed support :Provide clear, empathetic, and patient guidance to clients from diversebackgrounds, ensuring a respectful, inclusive, and culturally responsiveexperience. Offer choices and support clients throughout the referral process,ensuring they understand next steps and program expectations. Identifyindividuals requiring additional assistance and coordinate warm referrals toappropriate internal and external resources while respecting culturaldifferences and individual needs. Cross-Departmental & Inter-Agency Coordination
Build and coordinate partnerships andreferrals
: Develop and maintain solid relationships withreferral partners and community organizations. Maintain regular communicationto verify service availability and ensure smooth coordination of clientreferrals. Handle program-related communications
: Correspondby email and phone to support ongoing program delivery and Centre operations,ensuring timely and professional communication with internal staff, externalpartners, and clients. Information Management & Administration
Maintain accurate client records
: UseMNLC’s client management systems (e.g., Apricot, SharePoint) to ensure allclient information is up-to-date, complete, and accurately recorded. Monitor intake trends and generate programreports:
Collect, analyze, and maintain intake and participationdata to identify trends, support outcome reporting, and inform programplanning. Generate and distribute reports related to applications, informationsession attendance, and overall program participation, ensuring accurate datacollection and timely updates. Ensure confidentiality and privacycompliance: Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere toall privacy standards in every interaction and when handling client data. Client Engagement & Program Support
Prepare and deliver student transcripts
andassist with
tracking attendance
to maintain accurate academic records. Conduct follow-ups
withclients as needed to promote engagement, retention, and successful program outcomes. Support coordination of ISCP sessions,onboarding activities, events, and workshops:
Assist with theplanning, logistical coordination, and delivery of ISCP information sessions,orientations, onboarding activities, events, and workshops, both online and inperson. Help ensure smooth operations, effective program delivery, and positiveparticipant experiences through strong organization, event support, andparticipant engagement. Identify and troubleshoot access barriers
forclients (e.g., related to language, technology, or forms), and
escalateissues
to program leads when appropriate. Organizational& Team Participation
Participate in team meetings andprofessional development:
Engage in regular team meetings, trainingsessions, and learning opportunities to support continuous growth andcollaboration. Support community outreach activities:
Takepart in outreach efforts as needed to promote MNLC’s programs and strengthencommunity connections. Represent MNLC in external interactions:
Serveas a professional and welcoming representative of MNLC in external-facingcommunications and engagements. Qualifications & Experience
Post-secondary education
inSocial Services, Psychology, Public Health, Community Work, Education, or related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant workexperience will also be considered. At least 2 years of experience
inclient intake, program coordination, or frontline service delivery ineducation, health, settlement, or employment settings. Strong attention to detail,organizational, and problem-solving skills,
with the ability to manage multiple systems and databases effectively. Demonstrated experience working withculturally diverse communities , including immigrants,refugees, and internationally trained professionals, with a strongunderstanding of their needs Excellent English communication andinterpersonal skills , with the ability to handle sensitiveconversations with care and discretion. Ability to communicate in an additionallanguage is an asset. Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Teams,Zoom, SharePoint,
and other digital communication tools;experience with EOiS-CaMS and Apricot is an asset. Proven ability to work independently andunder supervision,
