Position Summary Bee-Clean Building Maintenance is seeking an

Operations Supervisor – Nights

to oversee multiple University of Alberta sites in Edmonton. Reporting to the Night Manager, this position is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, employee performance, training, and compliance with Bee-Clean’s health and safety standards.

The role involves frequent travel between client locations and close collaboration with managers and frontline team members. The successful candidate will be organized, dependable, and comfortable taking a hands‑on approach to employee supervision, safety, training, and operational support.

Duties and Responsibilities Employee Relations

Supervise, coach, and support frontline employees to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.

Foster respectful and professional working relationships across a diverse workforce.

Ensure Bee-Clean employees and subcontractors comply with uniform, identification, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Manage health and safety onboarding and orientation for new employees.

Apply disciplinary processes in accordance with Human Resources policies and procedures.

Provide coverage for supervisors or site managers when required, particularly in matters related to employee supervision and safety.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee health and safety records.

Health & Safety





Oversee assigned sites to ensure compliance with Bee-Clean’s health and safety program.

Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety legislation, regulations, and codes.

Complete, maintain, and submit required safety documentation accurately and on time.

Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits.

Organize and lead safety meetings and toolbox talks.

Complete field‑level hazard assessments in collaboration with frontline employees.

Support safety planning and implementation for projects and operational activities.

Conduct incident investigations, complete required reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Prepare and submit inspection reports and safety observations to Night Managers and subcontractors, where applicable.

Train and retrain employees on safety procedures, equipment use, and company policies.

Maintain and update Safety Data Sheet (SDS) binders.

Scan, file, and organize monthly safety documentation for assigned sites.

General Operations

Implement and enforce company policies, practices, and procedures across assigned sites.

Order, distribute, and deliver PPE, first aid kits, emergency clean‑up kits, and other required materials.

Assist operations and administrative staff with supply orders, transportation support, and other operational requirements.

Prepare and submit physical demands analyses.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements

This is a

night shift position, working Sunday through Thursday nights . Consistent availability for overnight hours is a condition of employment.

Frequent travel between multiple University of Alberta sites is required.

A personal vehicle is required for travel between assigned locations.

Ability to walk, stand, bend, and climb stairs for extended periods while conducting site inspections and overseeing operations.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to

74 lbs , including PPE supplies, first aid kits, emergency clean‑up kits, equipment, and boxes of supplies.

Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including lifting, reaching, crouching, and handling equipment at various work sites.

Ability to perform administrative duties at a desk, including computer-based documentation and reporting.
