Job Summary:
The Senior UX Designer will lead the end-to-end user experience design for the Common Compliance Management Platform (CCMP), a government initiative to modernize regulatory compliance services across multiple ministries. This role involves transforming business requirements and user insights into accessible, intuitive, and user-centered digital experiences. Working within an Agile setting, the Senior UX Designer collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent, high-quality, and compliant digital solutions that improve service delivery for internal staff, businesses, and citizens. Responsibilities:
- Lead UX design activities throughout the product lifecycle including discovery, research, prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement.
- Plan and conduct user research and stakeholder engagement such as interviews, workshops, surveys, and usability testing.
- Translate research findings into personas, customer journey maps, service blueprints, information architecture, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
- Design accessible, user-centered digital experiences following UX/UI best practices, human-centered design principles, AODA/WCAG standards, and the Ontario Design System.
- Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, developers, and Agile teams to align user needs with business objectives.
- Develop UX strategies and provide expert advisory services on service design, usability, accessibility, and performance measurement.
- Support solution architecture design, options analysis, and business case development.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 5+ years leading human-centered UX research and design for complex digital products and services.
- Proven experience conducting user research activities and translating findings into actionable design recommendations.
- Expertise in creating personas, user journeys, service blueprints, information architecture, user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes aligned to the Ontario Design System and accessibility standards.
- Strong knowledge and application of AODA and WCAG accessibility requirements.
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, Lean, or DevOps environments.
- Proficiency with UX design tools such as Figma.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools.
- Experience in public sector or large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- 3+ years of experience in service design and digital product delivery.
- Experience applying human-centered and evidence-based design methods to solve complex challenges.
- Ability to develop and iterate prototypes and proof-of-concepts.
- Experience contributing to UX strategies, service standards, and continuous digital experience improvements across multiple user groups.
- Strong analytical, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to provide strategic advice and collaborate with senior leadership.
Special Considerations:
- Must be available for 5 days onsite as required.
- Role requires collaboration across multiple government ministries and adherence to public sector digital standards.
