We are currently recruiting for a Licensed Millwright (433A) to join the maintenance team of an established food manufacturer in the London area.
This is a hands-on maintenance position supporting a busy, automated production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues, completing preventative maintenance, supporting equipment improvements, and working closely with production to minimize downtime and maintain reliable plant operations.
What You'll Be Doing
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment throughout the production facility
Diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance according to established schedules
Maintain and repair conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and other production equipment
Support automated processing and packaging equipment
Complete equipment installations, modifications, rebuilds, and mechanical upgrades
Perform equipment alignments, component replacement, adjustments, and changeovers as required
Use welding, fabrication, and machining skills to complete repairs and equipment modifications
Assist with identifying recurring equipment issues and opportunities to improve reliability
Work closely with production and other maintenance team members during breakdowns and planned maintenance
Complete work orders and accurately document repairs and maintenance activities
Maintain equipment in accordance with food safety, GMP, and plant safety requirements
Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives within the maintenance department
What We're Looking For
Valid Ontario 433A Industrial Millwright Licence
3+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred
Previous experience within food, beverage, packaging, pharmaceutical, consumer goods, or another high-volume manufacturing environment is an asset
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience working with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automated production equipment
Welding and fabrication experience
Comfortable working independently during equipment breakdowns as well as collaboratively within a maintenance team
Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation
Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and computerized work-order systems
Understanding of GMP, food safety, and industrial safety practices is an asset
Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge is considered an asset
