About our client

Our client is one of the largest privately owned, family-run energy and infrastructure construction companies in North America, with operations across the US, Canada, Europe and Australia.
They are known for delivering complex civil, utility and trenchless infrastructure projects, supported by extensive equipment capabilities, specialist technical expertise and a genuine safety-first culture.
They are seeking a Senior Superintendent to support the delivery of civil and utility construction projects across the Lower Mainland, beginning with a major water infrastructure project in Coquitlam.
This is a permanent, field-focused leadership position within an established organisation. You will work closely with the Project Manager and wider project team to coordinate site operations, provide direction to Foremen and crews, and ensure the work progresses safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.
Alongside project delivery, you will have the opportunity to contribute practical field knowledge to constructability reviews, site visits and future project pursuits.
This position is based in Coquitlam, BC,



with travel to project sites across the wider Lower Mainland.

Responsibilities

Maintain and promote a solid safety culture across employees, subcontractors, vendors and project partners.
Lead and coordinate day-to-day field operations on civil and utility infrastructure projects.
Provide clear direction, guidance and support to Foremen and field crews.
Ensure the required labour, equipment, materials and site resources are available to support efficient project delivery.
Plan and sequence field activities in coordination with the Project Manager and wider project team.
Monitor progress, productivity, schedule and field costs against project objectives.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, equipment and material deliveries.
Participate in inspections, identify deficiencies and support timely corrective action.
Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports and other key field documentation.
Attend site and client meetings as a representative of field operations.
Work collaboratively with Project Managers, field engineers, clients and subcontractors to resolve construction challenges.
Contribute practical field insight to site visits, constructability reviews and bid reviews.
Support and develop field personnel while promoting accountability, collaboration and high performance.

What you bring





Progressive field leadership experience within heavy civil, municipal water, sewer, underground utilities or related infrastructure construction.
Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, equipment, labour and material requirements.
Experience directing Foremen, field crews and subcontractors across active construction sites.
Ability to plan and sequence field activities while monitoring safety, quality, productivity, schedule and cost.
Experience working closely with Project Managers, engineers, clients and other project stakeholders.
Ability to read, interpret and apply construction drawings, plans and specifications.
Strong understanding of applicable construction standards, codes and safety requirements.
Confident leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
A collaborative, practical and solutions-focused approach.
Experience with water main, sewer, excavation, shoring, roadwork or underground utility construction is preferred.
Relevant trade certification or equivalent practical construction experience.
Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Valid driver's licence with an acceptable driving record.
