JOB SUMMARY:
The incumbent performs security-related duties, assisting nursing and healthcare professionals in providing basic physical and psychiatric care to patients in accordance with the standards and guidelines of the forensic psychiatric units. They supervise, control, and monitor movement and activities, ensure patient comfort and safety, conduct headcounts and patrols inside and outside the facility, and perform security checks and searches of units, physical facilities, patients, visitors, and personal belongings, under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Secondary School Diploma plus an additional Correctional Techniques Program of over one year and up to two years or equivalent;
- Current Basic Life Support certification (BSL);
- Advanced Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (CPI)
course or commitment to take this training within the set timeframe;
- Prevention and Management of Suicidal Behaviour course or a commitment to take this training within the set timeframe;
- Good judgement and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member;
- Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
- Positive previous work history (performance and attendance);
- Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
- Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
