Mechanical Team Leader (Evening Shift) – Heavy Equipment
Ensure that health, safety, and the environment (HSE) remain at the heart of the workshop’s operations.Supervise the execution of work and ensure the quality of the work performed.Coordinate and assign daily tasks to the mechanical team.Supervise and support the evening shift mechanics in their activities.Establish repair and maintenance priorities based on operational needs.Support the team in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues.Ensure compliance with workshop procedures, work methods, and best practices.Participate in staff evaluations and the identification of training needs.Coordinate the work of external suppliers and subcontractors.Research and order the parts needed for the work.Ensure effective communication with operations teams to maximize equipment availability.Participate in continuous improvement and in maintaining a safe, clean,
and productive work environment.Contribute to the completion of mechanical work to support the team and ensure that operational priorities are met.Qualifications
DEP in construction equipment mechanics, heavy vehicle mechanics, or a related field—and/or equivalent experience5 to 10 years of experience in heavy equipment or heavy vehicle mechanics.Experience in supervision, coordination, or team management.PEP (Preventive Maintenance Program) certification and/or experience with SAAQ mechanical inspections (a plus).Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 3 is a plus).Strong ability to organize and manage priorities.Inspiring leadership and the ability to motivate a team.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Sense of initiative, independence, and team spirit.Constant attention to the quality of work and the availability of equipment.Be passionate about mechanics and enjoy working as part of a team.Schedule: 4 evenings per week, Monday through Thursday
