Your Opportunity: Part-Time Early Childhood Educator / Special Needs Educational Assistant We are currently seeking a dynamic and compassionate individual to join our Educator team in the following vital role: Providing enhanced ratio support to our Preschool Room as part of an FSCD Aide in Daycare contract. This role offers an impactful opportunity to support a child's development. Approximate hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 1 day/week to start, with potential to increase up to Monday-Friday based on the attendance of the child with the contract.
Schedule communication: You'll receive your schedule a month at a time, about two weeks in advance, allowing for predictable planning. Flexible Relief Shifts: If available, you may pick up additional relief shifts outside of FSCD-funded hours, offering opportunities to expand your impact and hours. Why Choose EHWCCS? Shift Availability: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm (variable days based on parent's work schedule); Relief shifts occasionally available between 6:30 and and 6:00 pm. What You'll Bring: Essential Qualifications: To excel in this role, applicants must have: Alberta Level 1 Early Childhood Educator Certification (or higher), or a commitment to obtain it within 6 months of starting employment. Proven experience working with children under the age of 6 years. Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken),
fostering clear and empathetic interactions. Experience dealing with parents/the public, building positive relationships. Valid childcare first aid certification. Police security clearance, including vulnerable sector search, dated within the past 6 months. A genuine willingness to follow a respectful, positive, proactive, strengths-based approach to child guidance. A deep recognition of the value and importance of open-ended play in children's growth and development. Excellent critical thinking and self-reflection abilities, vital for continuous improvement. Desired Assets: Set Yourself Apart Applicants with the following will be strongly preferred: Post-secondary education in Early Learning and Childcare, Special Needs Educational Assistant, and/or extensive experience working with children with diverse needs. Experience with G-tube feeding is a strong asset. Familiarity with the Flight curriculum framework is an asset. Familiarity with the transformative work and philosophy of Magda Gerber and/or Dr. Emmi Pikler is a strong asset. Experience with the Pyramid Teaching Model (ASaP) is an asset.
