Barriers is hiring Industrial Coaters at our Red Deer shop to support piping and structural coating work.
What You'll Do
- Apply industrial coatings (epoxies, urethanes, zinc-rich primers, etc.) to structural steel and piping per spec, in-shop
- Perform surface preparation — abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning, and surface profiling to SSPC/NACE/AMPP standards
- Operate spray equipment (airless, conventional, plural component) and hand-apply coatings where required
- Read and follow coating specs, data sheets, and job-specific work packages
- Monitor and record environmental conditions (temp, humidity, dew point) and film thickness (WFT/DFT) to ensure spec compliance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop work area
What You Bring
- Experience with industrial/protective coatings application (blasting and spray experience preferred)
- Familiarity with SSPC/NACE (AMPP) surface prep and coating standards
- Comfortable in a shop environment, material handling, physical labor
- Valid driver's license an asset
- Tickets/certs an asset:
H2S & Fall Protection
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work well on a crew

- Industrial Coating: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- NACE Certification (preferred)
- H2S Alive Certification (preferred)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- CSTS 2020 Certification (preferred)
- Confined Space Certification (preferred)
- Class 5 Driver's Licence (preferred)
