Duties

- Prepare bookkeeping using technology solutions, including QBO, Xero, Hubdoc, Dext, and Sage;
- Prepare financial statements in compliance with the appropriate reporting framework as per the client;
- Prepare and complete working papers, financial statements, Compilation Engagements and tax returns according to Company and regulatory standards for clients in a variety of businesses.
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results;
- Responsible for the completion of tax engagements by computing taxes owed, preparing trust, personal, and corporate tax returns (and other compliance slips), preparing year-end tax forms (T4s/T5s), recommending tax strategies for clients;
- Build effective working relationships with client contacts, and respond effectively to client requests and suggestions related to engagement;
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns;
- Prepare projections, forecasts, business plans, and other projects as required;




- Be able to address client issues with third parties such as regulatory auditors, lenders, client shareholders or lenders;
- Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlights;
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures;
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes;
- Participate in business development initiatives and identify recent business opportunities;
- Completion of additional ad-hoc duties or assignments as required;

Requirements

- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Dext, Hubdoc, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Familiarity with payroll systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of account reconciliation techniques and financial reporting standards.
- Strong technology skills, including the ability to integrate applications and use technology to streamline processes
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies
- Effective communication skills to collaborate within a team environment.
