Asbestos Abatement Technician
Remediclean is looking for experienced and motivated Asbestos Abatement Technicians to join our growing team.
The successful candidates will be responsible for performing a variety of hazardous materials abatement & remediation activities in commercial, & industrial environments. This is a hands-on position requiring a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, physical fitness, & the ability to work effectively both independently & as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and safely dismantle containment structures and controlled work areas.
- Perform the safe removal, handling, packaging, and preparation for disposal of hazardous materials, including:
- Asbestos
- Lead
- Mold
- PCB
- Mercury
- Other hazardous or contaminated materials
- Perform cleaning and decontamination of work areas, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Follow all applicable occupational health and safety requirements, company policies, safe work procedures, and safe work practices.
- Properly use, maintain, and care for PPE, tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
- Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of safety and workmanship.
- Participate in training and ongoing development as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous hands-on experience in hazardous materials abatement or remediation.
- Experience working with hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, mold, PCB, mercury, biohazard, or similar materials.
- Valid Occupational Health and Safety for the Asbestos Worker certification issued by the Government of Alberta.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence.
- Clean driver's abstract.
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- CSA-approved steel-toe work boots.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting, carrying, moving contents and equipment, bending, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and working in PPE for prolonged periods.
Considered an Asset
- Current First Aid certification.
- Experience working in commercial, industrial, or complex remediation environments.
- WHMIS /CSTS2020
- Asbestos Awareness Certificate
- TDG
