The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and collaborative leadership to advance the Faculty's academic mission, artistic excellence, research profile, and community engagement activities. This includes overseeing academic planning, operations, development, and both internal and external relations. The Dean is expected to foster an inclusive, transparent, and collegial environment that supports creativity, innovation,
and student success. They will also work closely with the Provost and Vice-President (Academic) to guide the Faculty's impact and shape music education and artistic practice in the country. Candidates for the Dean position must be eligible for appointment as a full professor and have a proven track record of scholarly achievement, strategic and financial leadership, and successful engagement with internal and external partners. The ideal candidate will have expertise in curriculum and program development, assessment, and outcomes measurement, as well as experience in advancing complex initiatives through data-informed decision-making. Essential skills include exceptional communication, relationship-building, and the ability to inspire diverse partners. A commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, sustainability, and continuous quality improvement is also a key requirement for this role. The Dean will be expected to unite the Faculty around a compelling vision and to strengthen community, collaboration, and connection within the institution.
