Position: CIL Gold Mill Operator

Shift: 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off

Job Location: Touquoy CIL Gold Processing Plant – Moose River, Halifax County, Nova Scotia, approximately 63 km northeast of Halifax. The site is accessible by road. Travel to and from site is provided by the company.

Accommodation is provided for this position, along with a daily per diem allowance of $60 while working on site.

General Description

Scott Steel Erectors is seeking experienced CIL Gold Mill Operators to support operations at the Touquoy CIL Gold Processing Plant.

We are currently seeking operators with experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Crushing & Screening
- Grinding & Classification
- CIL Gold Plant / Process Operations
- Control Room Operations

Candidates do not need experience in all areas. Applicants will be considered based on their specific operating experience and assigned to positions that best match their background. Successful candidates will be responsible for the safe and productive operation and monitoring of processing equipment while supporting production, equipment reliability, quality, environmental and site safety requirements.

Operating Areas

Crushing & Screening

Experience operating and monitoring crushing and screening circuits, including primary, secondary and tertiary crushers, feeders, vibrating screens, conveyors, chutes and associated material-handling equipment. Operators should be able to identify and respond to blockages, crusher trips, belt issues and abnormal equipment conditions.

Grinding & Classification

Experience operating grinding and classification circuits, including SAG mills, ball mills, cyclones, slurry pumps, screens and conveyors. Operators will monitor mill performance, throughput, grind size, slurry density, cyclone pressure and other operating conditions.

CIL Gold Plant / Process Operations

Experience operating and monitoring CIL tanks, pumps, screens, agitators, conveyors,



cyclones and associated gold-recovery equipment. Operators will monitor process conditions including slurry density, pH, cyanide levels, dissolved oxygen, carbon activity and carbon handling.

Control Room Operations

Experience monitoring and controlling gold-processing operations through SCADA/DCS/PLC or similar process-control systems, including alarms, trends and process parameters. Control Room Operators may monitor crushing, milling, leaching, CIL, elution, carbon regeneration and gold-recovery circuits as applicable.

General Responsibilities

- Safely operate and monitor assigned processing equipment and plant circuits.
- Conduct routine inspections and identify abnormal operating or equipment conditions.
- Monitor production and process conditions and make appropriate operating adjustments.
- Respond to equipment alarms, trips, blockages and process upsets.
- Communicate operating conditions and equipment issues with Control Room Operators, field operators, maintenance personnel, metallurgists and Shift Supervisors.
- Assist maintenance personnel with troubleshooting and equipment inspections.
- Collect process samples and perform routine process checks where required.
- Participate in plant start-ups, shutdowns, equipment isolations and emergency procedures.
- Maintain accurate shift logs, inspection records and production documentation.
- Follow all site safety, environmental and operating procedures.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production, equipment reliability, throughput and gold recovery.

Required Experience & Qualifications

- Previous experience in a gold, hard-rock, mining or mineral-processing operation.
- Relevant operating experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Crushing and screening
- Grinding and classification
- CIL/CIP gold processing
- Control room operations
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to recognize abnormal process or equipment conditions and take appropriate action.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a processing and maintenance team.
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a mine-site environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mineral-processing, mill-operator or process-plant training is considered an asset.
- First Aid, WHMIS, confined-space and other relevant mine-site certifications are considered assets.

For Control Room positions: candidates should have strong experience with CIL/CIP gold recovery circuits and SCADA, DCS,



PLC or similar process-control systems. Additional Experience Considered an Asset

- Primary, secondary and tertiary crushing circuits
- SAG and ball mills
- Cyclone classification and slurry pumps
- Conveyors, feeders and material-handling systems
- CIL/CIP leaching and carbon management
- Elution and carbon regeneration
- Electrowinning and gold room operations
- Reagent preparation and dosing systems
- Thickening and tailings systems
- Process-water and reclaim-water systems
- SCADA/DCS process-control systems
- Preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Mine-site isolation and lockout/tagout procedures
