Are you dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced food-service environment? The Avenir Centre is looking for casual part-time Concession Cooks to prepare quality food and help provide a positive experience for every guest.

From concerts and sporting events to community gatherings and special events, our Concession Cooks play an important role in everything that happens at the Avenir Centre.

What You’ll Do

- Prepare, cook, and portion concession food correctly and on time.
- Follow recipes, quality standards, and department procedures.
- Set up and safely use kitchen and concession equipment.
- Package food according to established standards.
- Keep your workstation and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and fully stocked.
- Complete opening, closing, and other assigned duties.
- Follow food safety and workplace safety procedures.
- Follow waste-control procedures and record spoiled or discarded food.
- Help provide fast and effective food service during busy events.
- Work as part of the Food & Beverage team.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on event and operational needs.

What We’re Looking For

- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- One to six months of back-of-house food-service experience is preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Reliable, organized, and able to follow instructions.
- Strong attention to food quality, cleanliness, and safety.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to providing excellent guest service.




- Proficiency in English is required; proficiency in French is an asset.

Availability This is a part-time, event-based position. Candidates must have flexible availability, primarily during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Scheduling is based on the Avenir Centre’s event calendar and operational needs. Hours may vary from week to week.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions The successful candidate must be able to:

- Stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Bend, reach, twist, squat, push, and pull as required.
- Perform food-preparation tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Safely use knives, slicers, ovens, cooking equipment, and other kitchen tools.
- Work near hot surfaces, boiling liquids, sharp objects, and commercial kitchen equipment.
- Work in an setting that may be hot, humid, wet, and noisy.
- Frequently handle food and immerse hands in water.
