The Opportunity

Our company is on a trajectory to expand rapidly across Calgary and surrounding areas, bringing heightened project scope across our single-family, multi-family, and apartment building developments. The successful candidate who joins PCH as our Concrete and Cement Finishing Supervisor will be an integral part of our field execution team, driving high standards of quality, safety, and precision during the foundational and structural stages of our builds. Reporting directly to the Site Supervisor and working alongside our dedicated site crews, you will oversee concrete work in accordance with engineering drawings, project requirements, and quality standards.

We are seeking a highly motivated, versatile supervisor with a sharp, detail-oriented mindset. You will be a key member on our job sites, responsible for guiding general labour, coordinating concrete work, maintaining high cycle speeds, and actively driving project quality.

Core Responsibilities

- Coordinate Sub-Trades

● Supervise,



co-ordinate, and schedule the activities of concrete finishers, readymix delivery trucks, and related sub-trades on residential custom home sites.
- Manage Concrete Logistics

● Oversee the logistics of concrete pours (including foundation walls, basement slabs, and driveways), ensuring proper equipment setup, batching, and curing processes are followed.
- Quality Control & Troubleshooting

● Resolve in office work problems, troubleshoot concrete mix or finishing issues, and recommend measures to improve productivity and quality control.
- Schedule & Material Management

● Establish methods to meet critical path work schedules

● Create a requisition for construction materials, supplies, and equipment (such as heaters and heavy machinery) required for concrete phases.

- Safety Compliance

● Ensure strict adherence to provincial occupational health and safety standards and PCH’s internal safety protocols during all concrete and heavy equipment operations.
- Site Maintenance

● Manage general post-pour site maintenance, temporary infrastructure, and site clean-up to prepare the site for framing and subsequent construction phases.
- Training & Mentorship

● Train or arrange for the training of workers in specific concrete finishing techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.

Ideal Candidate Profile

● Education: Completion of secondary school is required.

● Experience: A minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in the concrete, readymix, or residential construction industry is required. Prior supervisory or foreman experience is required.

● Knowledge: Strong practical knowledge of residential concrete finishing, heavy equipment operation, and site safety management.

● Trade Certification: As concrete finishing is an optional trade in Alberta, a Journeyperson certificate is not mandatory. Relevant verifiable industry experience is required.

● Work Conditions: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, manage high-pressure scheduling,



and travel between multiple active build sites in the Calgary area.
