Construction Supervisor – Bridge & Civil Construction Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee and supervise bridge and civil construction projects from mobilization through completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating site activities, supervising construction crews and subcontractors, maintaining quality and safety standards, and ensuring work is completed in accordance with project schedules, drawings, specifications, and applicable MTO/OPS requirements.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in bridge construction or rehabilitation, solid leadership skills, and a solid understanding of structural concrete, reinforcing steel, formwork, and general civil construction practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications.
- Lead and manage construction crews, subcontractors, and site personnel.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and project documents.
- Supervise structural concrete, reinforced concrete, reinforcing steel, and formwork activities.
- Monitor construction work to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and applicable MTO and OPS requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, safety, and site conditions.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and clients to maintain smooth project execution.
- Identify potential construction issues, delays, and site hazards and take appropriate corrective action.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, manpower, and site logistics to support project requirements.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project management.
- Assist with tracking labour, equipment,



materials, and other project costs.
- Maintain accurate daily site records, including manpower, equipment, production, site activities, deficiencies, and other relevant documentation.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable health and safety requirements and company policies.
- Support quality control and quality assurance activities and coordinate inspections and testing as required.
- Assist with project closeout, deficiencies, and final completion activities.

Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of supervisory experience in civil construction, with direct bridge construction or rehabilitation experience mandatory.
- Strong hands-on experience with structural concrete, reinforced concrete, reinforcing steel, and formwork systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Working knowledge of MTO standards, OPS specifications, and QA/QC procedures.
- Proven ability to supervise construction crews and subcontractors effectively.
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, site coordination, and project logistics.
- Ability to identify and resolve construction issues in a timely and practical manner.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment and meet project deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on MTO, municipal, or other public-sector bridge projects.
- Experience with bridge rehabilitation, structural repairs, concrete restoration, and related civil works.
- Familiarity with construction documentation, inspection procedures, and project reporting.
- Relevant construction safety certifications are considered an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $90,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
