Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Specialist to support a large-scale public sector Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform engagement.

The successful candidate will provide expertise in data governance and work with business, technology, security, and data stakeholders to establish and maintain appropriate governance practices, standards, controls, and processes for enterprise data.

The role will focus on ensuring data is appropriately managed, defined, classified, protected, and maintained throughout its lifecycle while supporting data quality, integrity, security, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and support data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and processes.
- Establish and maintain data governance practices across business and technology teams.
- Define and support data ownership, stewardship, accountability, and governance roles.
- Develop standards and processes related to data quality, data integrity, data classification, metadata, and data lifecycle management.
- Identify data quality issues and work with stakeholders to establish appropriate remediation and monitoring processes.
- Support the definition of business data rules, data standards, and data definitions.
- Establish governance controls for the collection, storage, use, sharing, retention, and protection of data.
- Work with business and technical teams to ensure data governance requirements are incorporated into technology solutions.
- Support privacy, security, regulatory, and organizational compliance requirements related to data.
- Assist with data classification,



access controls, retention requirements, and appropriate handling of sensitive information.
- Collaborate with solution architects, developers, business analysts, security teams, and other stakeholders.
- Support data governance requirements associated with system implementation, integration, migration, and transformation activities.
- Develop and maintain data governance documentation, standards, procedures, and governance artifacts.
- Identify data-related risks and recommend appropriate governance controls and remediation strategies.

Required Qualifications

- Experience supporting data governance within Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Microsoft Power Platform environments.
- Demonstrated qualified experience in Data Governance within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, principles, policies, and best practices.
- Experience with data quality, data integrity, metadata management, data classification, data stewardship, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience defining data governance policies, standards, processes, and controls.
- Understanding of privacy, security, access control, and regulatory considerations related to enterprise data.
- Experience working with business and technical stakeholders to establish and implement governance requirements.
- Experience supporting data governance within enterprise application implementations, migrations, or transformation initiatives.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse and governance considerations associated with Power Platform.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or other enterprise cloud environments.
- Previous experience supporting government, public sector, or other highly regulated environments.
