Pulse Seismic Inc. has a career opportunity for a Data Management Technician.
Pulse is seeking a Data Management Technician to join our Data Services team. Pulse Seismic is a market leader in the acquisition, marketing and licensing of 2D and 3D seismic data for the western Canadian energy sector. Publicly traded on the TSX, Pulse owns the largest licensable seismic data library in Canada.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Pulse's Calgary, Alberta office.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Management Technician provides essential technical and operational support to the Data Services team. This role focuses on maintaining the integrity of seismic database and associating historical records, processing quality inspections, managing historical documentation, and supporting our sales and data licensing workflows. You'll work directly with internal systems and databases, create maps and data files, and provide backup support to the sales and technical representatives.
There is genuine opportunity to develop expertise in data management, GIS systems, and seismic data operations as the role expands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Process Quality Inspection requests and maintain QI documentation.
· Support database accuracy and data integrity for seismic metadata and licensing records.
· Create maps and data files from the internal GIS and mapping systems as needed.
· Perform data entry and research to maintain current company and ownership information.
· Provide backup support to the Data Services Inside Sales Representative and Data Services Technical Representative.
· Assist with contract administration and licensing documentation (secondary responsibility).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
· Related post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
· Background in data management, GIS, or the energy sector is desirable.
· Working knowledge of oil & gas and seismic terminology.
Skills and Abilities
· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Detail-oriented with focus on data accuracy and quality.
· Self-motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Comfortable learning new systems and asking clarifying questions.
· Ability to handle confidential and partner-sensitive information professionally.
Software Knowledge
· Robust skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· Experience with SQL and ArcGIS Pro are an asset.
· Familiarity with seismic data management systems is desirable but not required.

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
