Job Title: Educator(s) - Green Dome Daycare Centre

Al-Madinah Calgary Islamic Assembly (AMCIA), a leading Alberta-based non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Islamic values in the province of Alberta and beyond. Founded with a vision of fostering a strong and vibrant Islamic community. AMCIA has been tirelessly working towards this mission since its inception.

Over the years, the organization has undertaken numerous initiatives ranging from the establishment of mosques and religious education to community services and a Halal food bank. AMCIA has established Green Dome Islamic School (GDIS), one of the largest Islamic school projects undertaken by a Muslim charity in North America.

AMCIA's concern, Green Dome Society (GDS), has launched Green Dome Daycare, a licensed day and out-of-school childcare centre designed to provide children with a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and values-based environment.

We are seeking passionate, young, energetic, playful, and caring Educators to join our team. Multiple positions are available for educators working with different age groups. Key Responsibilities:

The Educator is responsible for providing high-quality care, supervision, and age-appropriate learning experiences in accordance with Alberta child care requirements and the centre's policies and programming philosophy. Our ideal Educator is energetic, positive, patient, creative, playful, and passionate about early childhood education. You should enjoy actively participating in children's play, encouraging their curiosity, and creating an environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Provide attentive, responsive, and age-appropriate care and supervision to children.
- Actively engage children through play, storytelling, music, movement,



creative activities, and exploration.
- Plan and implement fun, stimulating, and age-appropriate activities that support children's development and interests.
- Support children's physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development through play-based learning.
- Establish positive, respectful, and trusting relationships with children and encourage their independence, creativity, and confidence.
- Assist children with daily routines, including meals, snacks, toileting, diapering, dressing, rest periods, and transitions, as appropriate to the age group.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment and follow all health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation requirements.
- Observe children's development and maintain required attendance, daily, incident, and program documentation.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and guardians regarding children's daily experiences, development, and needs.
- Work collaboratively with other educators and centre leadership to provide consistent, high-quality care.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, training, special activities, celebrations, and centre events as required.
- Support an inclusive and values-based environment that promotes kindness, respect, cooperation, and positive behavior.
- Any other duties assigned by the daycare management/leadership.

Qualifications (Mandatory):

- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 1 or Level 2 or Level 3 certification recognized by the Government of Alberta
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare, daycare, preschool, or early learning environment




- Understanding of early childhood development and best practices
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Proof of eligibility may be required at the time of hiring)
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification (Child Care Level) or willingness to obtain/renew as required
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Three professional references (must be contactable)
- Class 5 Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications & Assets

- Food Handling Training
- Experience or training in working with people with disabilities

Salary & Benefits:

- From: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour, based on certification, education, and experience
- Alberta government wage enhancement (subsidy) in addition to base pay
- Paid vacations depend on the length of service
- Flexible schedule
- On-site parking

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, in-person position. Candidates must be available (in person) at our Calgary location (4616 80 Ave NE, Calgary AB T3J 4B7). Typical working hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility required for special events or operational needs.
