Role Description The Dental Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Hamilton, ON. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, organizing instruments and materials, and assisting the dentist during examinations and procedures.

The Dental

Assistant supports patient care by reviewing medical histories, helping patients feel comfortable, and providing post-treatment instructions related to oral hygiene and follow-up care. Additional duties include sterilizing and maintaining dental instruments and equipment, managing supplies, and accurately documenting treatments and patient information.



The role also involves coordinating with the front desk as needed, maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment, and following all infection control and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

- Strong foundational skills in Dental Assisting, including chairside support and patient preparation.
- Knowledge of Dentistry and Dental Care practices, with the ability to follow clinical protocols and dentist instructions.
- Experience or training in Oral Care education, including explaining oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care to patients.
- Competence in Sterilization procedures, infection control, and protected handling of instruments and materials.
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program and current certification/registration as required in Ontario.
- CPR and first aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered and respectful approach.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical workplace, with attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Comfort using dental software and basic computer applications for scheduling and charting.
