Director, Corporate Finance

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

We are looking for an experienced Director of Corporate Finance to work closely with the CFO and take on a broad, hands-on leadership role across corporate finance, financial planning and strategic initiatives.

The role will work closely with the existing FP&A; and accounting teams, providing financial leadership and business partnership without necessarily having direct oversight of both functions.

The Director will be a key partner to the CFO, with a strong focus on financial planning, corporate finance, taxation, banking and financing, M&A; support, and operational decision-making across the business.

Qualifications & Experience

- CPA designation is required.
- 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with strong exposure to corporate finance, FP&A; and business partnering.
- Strong experience in FP&A;, corporate finance, financial modelling and strategic decision support. Controllership/accounting knowledge is valuable, but deep controllership experience is not essential.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, variance analysis, KPI reporting and long-range financial planning.
- Solid understanding of financial statements, financial controls, audit requirements and accounting processes,



with the ability to work effectively alongside the Controller/accounting team.
- Experience with Canadian corporate taxation, including tax planning, compliance and working with external tax advisors.
- Practical treasury and banking exposure, including cash-flow management, working capital, financing arrangements and lender relationships, is considered an asset rather than a core requirement.
- Experience supporting M&A;, acquisitions or other strategic transactions is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn financial information into practical recommendations for the business.
- Experience working directly with senior executives, operating leaders, banks, auditors, tax advisors and other external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to operate across both head-office finance and the operational side of a business, taking on broad responsibility in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience in a family office, privately held investment group, owner-managed business, or similarly entrepreneurial workplace is strongly preferred. This role may suit a high-performing finance professional seeking broader responsibility and greater involvement in operations.
- Experience with a Big Four or other major accounting/advisory firm would be an asset.
- Experience in a multi-entity, acquisitive or entrepreneurial organization would be an asset.
