Job Posting Director, Finance Investment Operations (5838) Help us serve 100,000 of Manitoba’s healthcare professionals. At HEB Manitoba, Finance is a service department within HEB Manitoba that is responsible for the preparation and distribution of accurate financial information to over 100,000 healthcare workers and stakeholders.
The department ensures effective financial management and a strong internal control environment while maintaining compliance Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Treasury, the Director, Finance Investment Operations leads all investment middle and back-office functions, ensuring the effective administration, accounting, valuation, reporting, compliance, and operational oversight of a multi-asset investment portfolio. This role is responsible for maintaining a strong governance and control framework, supporting investment transactions and onboarding activities, overseeing relief at source and tax reclaim processes, and managing key relationships with custodians, investment managers, auditors, and service providers.
As a member of the senior leadership team,
the Director provides strategic and operational leadership to the Finance Investment Operations team, supports financial reporting and audit requirements, monitors investment activity and controls, and drives continuous improvement through process optimization and automation. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring extensive expertise in investment operations, accounting, financial reporting, and stakeholder management. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
CPA or CFA designation required. Minimum 5 years of investment operations experience in middle and/or back-office functions. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience, including coaching and developing teams.
Strong knowledge of investment accounting, particularly alternative investments. Expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and governance frameworks. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
