For over 40 years, we have provided innovative and delicious cakes, cookies, brownies, biscuits and other baked goods to Canadians via grocery stores and membership outlets across the country. As we continue to scale, we're seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Finance to lead our financial operations and support the company's next phase of growth.

Position Summary The Director of Finance will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial planning, reporting, and analysis functions. This role will partner closely with the executive team to drive financial strategy, ensure fiscal discipline, and provide the insights needed to support informed business decisions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Planning

- Develop and lead the company's annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team on growth initiatives, capital allocation, and investment decisions
- Build financial models to support long-range planning and scenario analysis

Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Oversee preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Deliver weekly financial KPIs to leadership and stakeholders
- Analyze margins, cost structures, and operational efficiency across product lines and facilities

Accounting & Controls
- Ensure the integrity of accounting processes, internal controls, and compliance with GAAP
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners




- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions

Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital to support operational needs
- Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and financing arrangements

Business Partnership
- Collaborate with operations, sales, and supply chain leaders to identify cost‐saving opportunities and improve profitability
- Support product costing activity, including quotes to recent potential cusstomers
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and process improvements

Qualifications

Required

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including leadership roles
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience in food, beverage, CPG, or manufacturing industries strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks Online
- Proven ability to manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insights for non‐financial stakeholders

Preferred
- CPA, CMA, or CA
- Experience supporting M&A; transactions or private equity‐backed businesses
- Familiarity with cost accounting in a food manufacturing or distribution environment
