Newstead Academy Markham is hiring Early Childhood Assistants to join our growing team!

We are looking for caring, energetic, and responsible individuals who enjoy working with young children. Under the direction of the Supervisor and Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs), the ECA will help create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for children.

Responsibilities

- Assist RECEs with daily classroom activities and routines
- Engage with children through play, learning activities, stories, art, music, and outdoor experiences
- Help prepare classroom materials and learning environments
- Supervise children and support their safety and well-being
- Support positive behaviour and social interactions
- Assist with meals, transitions, outdoor play, and daily routines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other team members
- Build positive relationships with children and families
- Follow Newstead Academy policies and childcare health and safety requirements

Qualifications
- Enjoy working with young children and have a caring and positive attitude




- Experience working with children is an asset
- Childcare, school, camp, tutoring, recreation, babysitting, or similar experience is welcome
- ECA diploma/certificate is an asset, but not required
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Reliable, responsible, and willing to learn

Employment Requirements Successful candidates will be required to provide:
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C
- Required health and immunization documentation

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour
