Introduction:
Averifica Labs Inc. is seeking an experienced electrical technologist ready to advance their career in product safety compliance. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and, ideally, one or more applicable CSA Standards.
This role offers the chance to build deep expertise in electrical product safety inspection, working across a wide range of industries and equipment types, and to become a recognized authority on Canadian electrical code and safety compliance.
Your Day-to-Day:
Your day begins from your home office, where you will review your client schedule and study drawings and photos submitted by clients to prepare for equipment inspection.
You will travel to client sites in a company-provided vehicle to conduct visual inspections of equipment for compliance with relevant CSA Codes and Standards, and serve as the on-site expert, addressing client questions throughout the process.
Following inspection, you will determine whether the equipment meets requirements, prepare a summary inspection report, and apply an approval label where appropriate.
Inspections typically take 1-4 hours depending on equipment complexity. You will work across a wide range of industries and commercial sectors, gaining broad, hands-on experience with diverse equipment types over time.
Expertise You Will Have or Gain After Joining Us:
- Canadian Electrical Code
- CSA SPE-1000 and various product CSA Standards
- Writing inspection reports
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and electrical code specifications

Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code and one or more CSA product safety standards
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience
- Familiarity with industrial electrical equipment and control panels
- General understanding of workplace safety
- Ability to drive (G license)
- Legally authorized to work in Canada, with the ability to travel internationally for inspections as required
- Fluency in English (written and verbal)
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and ensure no detail is overlooked
