Are you looking for a change? Work for an independent and female run business with three restaurant locations in Calgary.
An award-winning hospitality operator is located in Calgary - West Springs. The management team cares about the guest and about providing long term, stable work for our staff.
The role of Executive Chef requires a high level of culinary skills, enthusiasm, and work ethic.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all kitchen operations including menu execution and maintenance.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidence in the kitchen.
- Demonstrate a passion for the industry, our guests, and creating a positive work environment.
- Ordering and receiving of ingredients from suppliers.
- Ensure all food products are put away and stored properly at the end of service. Including proper labelling, rotating and storage of all food ingredients in the coolers, freezers and dry storage.
- Ensure the line is ready on time and is maintained.
- Communicate relevant kitchen operations information to all team members.
- Work effectively with the Front of House management team to deliver for our guest
- Focus on the continuous training and mentorship of all staff.
- Ensure the kitchen is kept in a clean and hygienic state in accordance with Alberta Health Services and Occupational Health and Safety mandates.
- Enforce all company policies at all times.
- Responsible for the safety, morale and well-being of the kitchen team.
- Act with integrity
Education and Experience
- Minimum of five years’ kitchen supervisory experience. Previous Executive Chef experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent technical knowledge of cooking styles.
- Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to work in an open kitchen.
- Ability to accurately cost menu items and conduct monthly inventory.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team.
- Excellent work ethic and cleanliness.
- Ability to be active on the line and provide hands on coaching
- Willingness to interact with the Front of House Management team and guests.
