Role Overview The Farm Worker supports day‑to‑day activities at the FoodFutures farm site, ensuring healthy plant growth, clean work areas, and consistent upkeep of crops, gardens, and farm infrastructure. Organizational Overview
Mastermind Youth Foundation is a youth education and career‑development organization that equips young people with real‑world skills, hands‑on experience, and industry‑aligned pathways across STEM, agriculture, media, and creative sectors.
Our model is built on experiential learning: youth operate real systems, manage real projects, and contribute directly to community outcomes. This approach prepares participants for employment, entrepreneurship, and post‑secondary opportunities while strengthening local economic sectors.
A core component of this work is FoodFutures, our youth‑powered agriculture and food‑systems initiative.
About FoodFutures
FoodFutures trains youth to grow food, steward land, and operate small‑scale agricultural systems. Participants manage and maintain greenhouse systems, raised beds, perennial food forests, composting systems, irrigation systems, and harvest workflows. They learn soil health, crop production, food preservation, and sustainable system design through hands‑on practice.
The program also supports community food security. Youth grow produce for local families, community partners, and food‑access programs, gaining an understanding of how local food systems function—from production and distribution to waste reduction and community impact.
FoodFutures operates as both an educational program and a functional micro‑farm, giving youth practical agricultural experience while contributing directly to the regional food ecosystem.
