Hello! I’m looking for a freelance short-form video editor to support ongoing social media content ranging from restaurant to lifestyle.

This role is ideal for someone who understands Instagram Reels/TikTok-style editing, quick pacing, text popups, sound effects, food close-ups, and personality-led content. The content should feel native to social media — not like a polished commercial or traditional promo video.

This is ideal for junior editors or UGC Creators looking to expand their video editing skills!

Responsibilities:

- Edit short-form vertical videos for Instagram Reels/TikTok
- Use raw footage provided to create engaging, social-first edits
- Add text popups, captions, sound effects, and music/audio timing
- Follow reference videos and creative direction closely
- Deliver edits in a timely manner
- Make revisions when needed

Requirements:

- Previous experience editing short-form content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or similar platforms
- Robust understanding of social-first pacing, hooks, text popups, sound effects, and retention-focused edits
- Comfortable editing food, restaurant, lifestyle, or personality-led content




- Able to follow a creative brief and reference video closely
- Able to work independently without extensive training
- Reliable with deadlines and communication
- Must be able to provide 3 relevant editing examples
- Comfortable working with provided raw footage, notes, and direction

Nice to have:

- Experience editing food, restaurant, hospitality, or local business content
- Familiarity with CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar editing software
- Understanding of current TikTok/Reels trends and native social editing styles

This role does not include filming, posting, scheduling, strategy, or voiceover work.

Compensation:

$400 CAD/month trial retainer for up to 8 short-form edits per month. Potential for scope and compensation to grow.
