Casual Part-Time, On-Call Support Staff

Fundy Funeral Home is expanding our casual part-time, on-call support team and is seeking dependable, compassionate individuals with flexible availability throughout weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

This role supports our funeral directors and operations team with services, visitations, transfers, preparations, and general funeral home operations as needed. Funeral service is a unique profession, and responsibilities may vary depending on the needs of the day.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist funeral directors with services, visitations, transfers, and other funeral home duties as required
- Support transfers and general operational duties as required
- Provide professional, compassionate support to families and staff
- Maintain discretion, professionalism, and composure in sensitive situations
- Assist with various tasks that support the day-to-day operations of the funeral home

Availability Flexibility and availability are important to this position.

- Availability during weekdays, evenings, and weekends is preferred
- Applicants who are available across all three areas are considered a strong asset
- Availability during regular weekday hours, as well as outside traditional business hours, is particularly valuable
- Hours are scheduled on an on-call, as-needed basis and will vary according to the operational needs of the funeral home

Requirements

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely lift, move, and assist with physical tasks when required
- Reliable, dependable, and professional demeanor
- Compassionate and respectful approach when working with families and colleagues
- Ability to work effectively in sensitive and sometimes unpredictable situations
- Solid communication skills and the ability to follow direction
