Duties

- Assist with planting, watering, fertilizing, and harvesting crops using appropriate tools and techniques
- Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, tillers, and irrigation systems to ensure optimal performance
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and infrastructure, including cleaning, repairs, and inspections using hand tools and power tools
- Support irrigation processes by setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution
- Conduct general farm upkeep including mowing, fencing, pest control, and soil preparation
- Lift heavy loads of supplies or harvested crops safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Follow safety guidelines during heavy equipment operation and manual labor tasks to prevent accidents





Requirements

- Mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot farm machinery and power tools effectively
- Experience with irrigation systems, horticulture practices, or farming techniques is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, colour and volume
- Familiarity with hand tools and maintenance procedures for farm infrastructure
- Willingness to learn about crop management, soil health, and sustainable farming methods, detecting disease and health problems in crop
- Strong work ethic with attention to safety standards during heavy equipment operation and manual tasks
- Able to work a physically demanding job with repetitive tasks
- Must be able to distinguish between various colours
