Role Description The General Laborer role at North York Shoring is a full-time, on-site position based in Toronto, ON. This role involves performing physical labor tasks such as loading and unloading materials, assisting with shoring and excavation activities, and helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite. Day-to-day responsibilities include following direction from site supervisors, using hand and basic power tools, setting up and removing equipment, and supporting demolition and facade retention work as needed.

Laborer is expected to adhere to safety procedures, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and report any hazards or incidents promptly.



The role may involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires reliable attendance and readiness to assist with urgent or time-sensitive site needs.

Qualifications

- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, bending, and working on uneven terrain for extended periods.
- Basic experience with construction tools and equipment, such as hand tools, power tools, and site machinery, with a focus on safe operation.
- Understanding of construction-site safety practices and willingness to follow company safety policies, including use of PPE.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to take direction from supervisors and collaborate with diverse crews.
- Reliability and punctuality, with a focus on consistent attendance and readiness to work full-time in office in Toronto, ON.
- Previous experience in shoring, excavation, demolition, or related construction work is an asset but not required.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation to and from job sites is preferred.
- Comfort working in outdoor environments and in various weather conditions, including early morning starts.
