About the Position

Bay Point Contracting is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and safety-conscious General Labourer to support our renovation teams on active project sites. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in doing quality work, follows instructions carefully, and understands that clean, organized, and secure job sites are essential to successful projects.

You will assist with material handling, job-site preparation, cleanup, and a variety of basic construction activities while learning from experienced renovation professionals.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with entry-level construction experience who wants to expand their skills and progress toward an Apprentice Renovation Carpenter position.

The General Labourer will report to the Site Lead and work closely with project managers, site leads, skilled tradespeople, and other team members.

Duties





- Receive instructions and follow through with understanding, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Support team members with the hands-on tasks required throughout each project.
- Transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to designated areas.
- Assist with carpentry, masonry, concrete work, and other renovation activities as directed.
- Prepare, clean, and organize job sites for each phase of construction.
- Perform end-of-day cleanup to remove hazards and maintain a professional work workplace.
- Operate hand and power tools when properly trained and authorized.
- Help ensure tools and equipment are maintained, organized, and secured.
- Assist with safety checks and report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or potential hazards.
- Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment for each site and task.
- Follow company policies, job-site procedures, safety standards, and legal requirements.
- Participate in responsible waste disposal and environmentally conscious job-site practices.
- Communicate clearly, ask appropriate questions, and report progress to the project team.
- Direct potential leads for new work to Bay Point Contracting's sales team.
- Represent the company professionally through every action and interaction.
- Participate in company training, third-party training, and on-the-job learning opportunities.
- Help ensure every Bay Point Contracting customer receives a positive and professional experience.

- Basic mathematical ability for measurements and material quantities.
- Willingness to work indoors and outdoors throughout the seasons and in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

- Valid G driver's licence.
- Approximately one year of construction or related hands-on experience is preferred but not required for a candidate who demonstrates strong reliability and willingness to learn.
- Ability to safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 70 pounds for approximately 150 feet.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.
