Forge Recruitment is currently searching for an Insurance Defense Associate to join an established litigation boutique law firm located in Downtown Toronto. In this role, your practice will focus on Insurance Defence litigation, product liability and professional liability.
Role Overview
Our client is seeking a mid-level Insurance Defence Associate (5 8 year Ontario call) with the ability to independently manage files and contribute meaningfully as part of a partner-led team on more complex matters. The ideal candidate brings both technical strength and professional maturity, and is motivated to grow within a firm that values mentorship, innovation, and excellence in advocacy. This is not a volume-driven role, rather, it is an opportunity to build a meaningful litigation practice within a high-performing and supportive team.

What You Bring
- 5 8 years' call
- Insurance defence and civil litigation experience
- Ability to manage own files with appropriate partner oversight
- Experience second-chairing on complex matters
- Strong knowledge of:
- Rules of Civil Procedure
- Insurance Act and regulations
- LAT Rules of Practice
- Excellent written and oral advocacy
- Strong strategic thinking and negotiation skills
- High level of comfort with:
- LEAP (or similar practice management systems)
- Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel)
- Willingness to engage in ongoing training and system adoption
