Jonnys Oilfield Hauling is looking for an experienced Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic with CVIP experience to join our growing team. We offer competitive industry wages, modern equipment, and a safety-first work environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Heavy Duty Technicians and Fleet and Facility Manager to maintain, repair, and ensure the reliability and safety of our fleet and equipment.

Pay: $45.00–$55.00/hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Requirements:

- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification (required)
- CVIP experience and knowledge of Alberta CVIP inspection requirements and the E-Facility program
- Experience working on Class 1 trucks, trailers, and heavy-duty equipment
- Hands-on experience with routine maintenance, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs
- Robust knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, air brake, and mechanical systems
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Professional, respectful, and team-oriented attitude
- Computer literacy and familiarity with diagnostic tools
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must comply with all company safety policies and PPE requirements
- Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors
- Valid driver's licence
- Willingness to perform service calls as required

- CVIP Inspector certification/authorization
- Standard First Aid & CPR (asset)
- Class 1 driver's licence (required)
- Loader ticket (asset)
- Welding experience (preferred)
- Previous oilfield experience (preferred)

Responsibilities:





- Diagnose and troubleshoot heavy-duty equipment issues
- Support the development and training of Heavy Duty Apprentices through hands-on mentorship
- Perform mechanical repairs in the shop and on road calls as required
- Repair and adjust hydraulic systems, safety switches, and mechanical components
- Inspect, repair, and adjust gas and diesel-powered units
- Diagnose and repair electrical and air brake systems
- Install and align engines and mechanical systems
- Test and ensure equipment performs to required standards following repairs
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Continuously seek improvements in processes and service delivery
- Stay current with industry technology, diagnostic equipment, and repair methods
- Support additional repair work as required
