Facca Incorporated is looking for a Junior Estimator to join our team and support our estimating department.

This is an excellent prospect for someone early in their construction career who is looking to develop their estimating skills and gain hands-on experience in the heavy civil and infrastructure construction industry. Working alongside our experienced estimating team, the Junior Estimator will assist in preparing competitive bids for public infrastructure projects at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels throughout Ontario.

Responsibilities

- Assist with the preparation of estimates, tenders, and bid submissions for heavy civil construction projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, tender documents, and addenda to understand project requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
- Assist in obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Help prepare pricing breakdowns and supporting documentation for bids.
- Maintain organized estimating files, drawings, quotations, and tender documentation.
- Assist with identifying project scope, potential risks, and constructability considerations.
- Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings when required.
- Communicate with suppliers, subcontractors, project managers, and other members of the project team.
- Support the estimating team with bid closing and submission requirements.
- Assist with the transition of awarded projects from estimating to the project management team.
- Perform other estimating and project-related duties as required.

Qualifications

- Currently getting or Recently Graduated with a diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.




- Previous estimating or heavy civil construction experience is considered an asset; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with estimating, takeoff, or construction management software is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within tender deadlines.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to attend project sites when required.
