About the Role: We are seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented Junior Scientist to join our Regulatory Compliance Team at Claigan. We are seeking someone in the early stages of their career who is looking for a high growth position.
You will act as a bridge between complex laboratory data and real world product compliance, working with diverse industries and international chemical regulations. We are looking for an analytical thinker whom we can mentor and develop into a regulatory expert. This position will lead to opportunities to design new testing processes and advise clients on regulatory product compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scientific Analysis: Gain knowledge of global regulations to conduct material and substance reviews of diverse products by interpreting laboratory results.
- Client Facing Communication: Review technical test reports and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for our clients.
- Regulatory Research: Dive deep into international chemical regulations, actively researching and disseminating updates to expand Claigan’s technical knowledge base.
- Process Development: Gain experience in developing, designing, and validating new laboratory tests and procedures.
- Cross Functional Support: Collaborate closely with laboratory technicians to troubleshoot technical issues.
Note:
While 1–3 years of experience in a related field is preferred, it is not a strict prerequisite. We are committed to providing comprehensive training to candidates who are ready to excel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Engineering / Applied Science, or equivalent academic/professional experience.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to learn complex technical concepts quickly.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) tailored for a fast paced professional environment.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively internally with a team and externally with clients.
- Highly organized with superior time management skills.
- Skillful with data tools (Excel, Google Workspace).
- Must be able to work in person at our office in Kanata, ON.
