Sawridge First Nation is seeking a dedicated and reliable Lands Caretaker to help maintain and care for Sawridge community lands. This role is essential in ensuring Sawridge lands remain safe, clean, and welcoming for all members and visitors throughout the year. While experience is an asset, this position will include on-the-job training and opportunities for certification to support career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general groundskeeping, including grass cutting, trimming, and seasonal yard care.
- Assist with snow removal and sanding in winter months.
- Maintain the overall appearance of Sawridge First Nation lands to ensure they remain presentable and welcoming.
- Support garbage and waste collection as required.
- Monitor and maintain lift stations and conduct routine water testing (training and certification provided).
- Carry out preventative checks through easy inspection logs for equipment (e.g., mowers, snowblowers,
lift station alarms, cistern pumps).
- Assist with event preparation and cleanup, including setting up chairs/tables and cleaning grounds after gatherings.
- Assist with other facilities or maintenance tasks as directed.
Qualifications & Skills
- On-the-job training and certifications (e.g., water systems, safety tickets) will be provided.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, skid steer, loader, and snow removal tools.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Competitive hourly wage. Pay: $20.00 per hour
