We are currently seeking a Lead Structural Engineer for our Pickering, ON offices. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various engineering assignments which require a general familiarity with a broad field of engineering. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Lead Structural Engineer will primarily focus on design for brown field as well as green field modifications for existing and/or recent structures and components.

The candidate will be capable of committing to and maintaining a project timeline and completing tasks within allocated time frames.

The ability to document and track project tasks and related design documents is required (strong organizational skills). Liaise with other discipline leads, project managers, vendors, contractors and clients to facilitate smooth flow of information for use in preparing preliminary and detailed design and provide design clarifications and solutions during construction.



Must have strong computer-oriented skills (familiarity with Autocad, MathCad, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions…etc.) Proficiency in STAAD Pro Software for Structural Analysis.

Strong hand-on expertise in the design of heavy industrial structures (steel, concrete, wood, masonry), preferably in the power generation industry, and Consulting Engineering experience is desirable. Knowledge of power plant Station Structures and Components (SSCs) is an asset. Review technical content of supplier/vendor bids and technical submissions.

Perform any required inspections as necessary for procurement of material.

University

Degree in Structural Engineering or related discipline is preferred Ten (10+) years of related engineering experience is considered an asset Preferably has previous exposure to stations, structures, and components of Nuclear Power Plants.
